Midtown Alliance

In working with Midtown Alliance, Brookwood Tree Consulting designed and developed an urban tree care program unlike anything already in place. Immediate goals were to identify assets within the district and prioritize care to the most utilized pedestrian and vehicular corridors to form a verdant network of trees shading the vibrant network of street life below.

Within the 1.2 square mile area, there are over 2,800 street trees and countless property owners that all connect with the street-level heart of the district. The tree care program has also allowed Midtown Alliance to collaborate with property owners at a new level and consider how trees form links between properties and the experience of daily residents, workers, and visitors.

We continue to manage the tree care program on a routine basis and assist with capital streetscape improvements.

Berry College

Brookwood Tree Consulting has served as Consulting Arborist for Berry College since 2012, collaborating with College Administration, Physical Plant, and design consultants to manage the main campus canopy covering an area of over 500 acres. In addition, we led the development of an award-winning student tree-care crew focused on testing and utilizing the latest and minimally invasive technology in arboriculture, assisted in establishing a campus arboretum, and created an on-campus tree nursery focused on propagating historic, significant, or endangered campus trees.

Agnes Scott College

Brookwood Tree Consulting has served as Consulting Arborist for Agnes Scott College since 2016 through the College’s Center for Sustainability. We routinely work with the Executive Director for the Center for Sustainability and the Director of Facilities to assess, study and manage the campus canopy of over 2,500 trees in both developed and wooded areas. During our work, we have created a model Campus Canopy Management Plan, increased sustainability initiatives involving tree care, provided project management in woodland restorations and established an Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary, and developed a wood reuse program for significant or historically important trees.

The Boulevard

Brookwood Tree Consulting led tree conservation efforts for The Boulevard in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The mixed-use project is the centerpiece in redefining Coleman Boulevard, which runs through the center of Mt. Pleasant. The area is working to improve the walkability of the old 5-lane highway and begin a transition from suburban strip malls and parking lots to a denser and more defined town center.

Atlanta Memorial Park

Brookwood Tree Consulting has served as Consulting Arborist for Atlanta Memorial Park Conservancy since 2013 in a wide range of capacities and spanning multiple initiatives in the park, which straddles Peachtree Creek, is Atlanta’s third-largest park, and includes several champions and historically significant trees. We have mapped all trees in the park, completed a forensic canopy analysis to identify trends and set benchmarks for biodiversity, and established a partnership with a neighborhood elementary school to create educational signage and programming.

Roswell River parks

Consulting Arborist services through the planning of significant improvements to a new park area along the Chattahoochee River.

Improvements to the greenspace will include a Children’s Garden and Fitness Loop Trail that will create a new user experience and improve accessibility, better manage stormwater, and improve riverbank erosion. Brookwood Tree Consulting completed a GIS-based tree survey and a full canopy forensic assessment of the project area to guide future management for the City of Roswell.
