In late 2013 we wrapped up tree conservation for The Boulevard in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The mixed-use project is the centerpiece in redefining Coleman Boulevard, which runs through the center of Mt. Pleasant. The area is working to improve the walkability of the old 5 lane highway and begin a transition from suburban strip malls and parking lots to a denser and more defined town center.
Our efforts lead the successful conservation of several mature live oaks by understanding site conditions and how they differed from how arborists traditionally consider critical root zones and structural root plates. The ability to bring an abstract focus to the project created a result that would have otherwise been impossible.
